What is "Provention"?

A Minnesota Welcome for the GOP is an effort by Minnesota’s music and arts community to meet the arrival of the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis with the warm embrace of rational engagement. We welcome the true GOP with a desire to celebrate it for what it is, a party at war with half the world; a party that represents, in truth, the interests of corporations and the richest of the rich. We honor the mind and heart of Republican Party leaders by exploring their stated policies for the future and their now-clear public record. In our welcoming Minnesota arms, GOP politicians won’t have to pretend to be compassionate, or take a stance as “mavericks” from their hard-line base. Minnesota knows and understands the root interests of its guests, and we welcome them with Music, and honor them with study and the bright light of publicity.

Poster Offensive

A Proud Provention Event

Our much-loved bag and poster designs are brought to us by the same community-conscious impressarios that will be bringing us Poster Offensive 4 which displays the poster stylings of Minneapolis designers seeking to encourage peace and democracy.

This year's event has exploded in scope to two full runs, each with it's own opening reception:
